I don’t chase. I attract.

Since the year has come to an end and the internet seems to be flooded with goals and a manifestation mindset, I thought I would highlight what has worked for me when it comes to pursuing my goals and future. There's a fundamental difference between attracting and chasing. When we act from a place of inner stillness, we naturally attract more and chase less. Chasing is what we do when we struggle. It was when I shifted my mindset from chasing what I wanted and fearing not receiving it to staying composed, envisioning my future, and executing what I needed to do to receive it, that I truly found success.

This mindset can align with every aspect of life. Whether it is your career, love life, or inner self.

Research has shown that talking to yourself out loud can motivate you to move forward with your goals, help you focus on a task at hand, and combat self-criticism. Gary Lupyan from the University of Wisconsin-Madison calls this phenomenon “feedback hypothesis.”

Positive Self-Talk - Make a Habit of It

Doing it once is a great first step, but like most things, consistency can lead to some bountiful benefits. Start slow but build up a practice of saying what you need to hear, and you may manifest your dreams sooner than you realize. For example, last year, I had the goal of walking in London Fashion Week and eventually moving and signing there. Months before I even received any type of interest or lead, I began to envision this goal, vocalize it to my closest friends and social media, and I even thought about the way I felt when I would receive this success. I practiced as if I were already walking in shows and I planned accordingly.

Next time you have a moment, whether it’s during your commute or in the middle of finally folding your laundry, walk through these steps and talk your way into a daily practice of, well, talking to yourself. Speak to yourself kindly and plan the steps it will take to reach wherever you aspire to be, whether it’s finding love, hitting a benchmark, or following your dreams.

Vocalize Your Goals And Reap The Benefits

Have you ever told someone you want to be a success? I’m not talking about becoming a manager within your company, but owning the company. For those of you that have, you probably gotten similar responses that I’ve also had. It’s the typical halfhearted “good luck” response. Not everyone is as confident in you as you are, but don’t let that stop you from telling people what you want to achieve in life. Regardless of their response, becoming vocal about your goals will only benefit you. I had a similar response when I told people I wanted to start my OWN business and move across the world. I remember sharing my wildest dreams and being met with doubt… the same people are now championing me for doing exactly what they doubted me for.

I believe we are all born with a wishful mindset instead of a determined one. That wishful mindset changes one day. I believe society does this. As we grow up, we are taught logic and reason and to let go of dreams. But both can exist. I say, if you truly love something, you are lucky. People spend their whole life wondering what it is they love and want to pursue and you have it. Whether it’s kicking a football, sitting at a desk with your feet up, or posing for photos, you have a passion. Now making you passion a profit is the next step. By profit, I do not mean monetary, I mean everything, money, happiness, fulfillment… the profits of life.

What helped me make the transition from a wishful mindset to a determined one was telling people about my goals. Vocalizing what I had been writing down every morning created a drive that I hadn’t experienced before. Making my goals vocal made them feel real. Writing out my goals daily made a difference in my level of motivation, but telling someone my goals took that motivation to an entirely new level. Being vocal helped cement the idea that I can achieve whatever I put my mind, energy, and passion into. I know my goals like the back of my hand and I’m honest about them. I’m going to be a success and I know I’m going to make an impact that lasts. Sure, I’m nowhere close to being where I want to be and most of the time I don’t know how I’m going to get there, but I’m committed to improving daily, and that’s what is important. That “drive” to consistently work to make my future a reality has made me more productive in my daily life than anything else has. I wake up with a goal to change lives, become more knowledgeable, and produce something that will make a difference.

Learn to become vocal about your goals, and watch your productivity and overall mentality hit a level of overdrive you’ve never experienced before.

Discipline

When my motivation is lacking, my discipline kicks in… With manifestation, I gain some extra, external motivation, one that holds me accountable and keeps the fire lit. Feel free to DM me your goals so I can hold you accountable.
