The Art of Changing Your Mind | YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT WITH YOUR LIFE 🖤⁣

YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT WITH YOUR LIFE 🖤⁣ Remember that.

YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT WITH YOUR LIFE 🖤⁣ Remember that.

Here’s the thing: you can do whatever you want with your life.⁣

Your life is yours to design and you can choose the ingredients: hustle, slowness, minimalism, adventure, family, wealth… whatever you want.⁣
But the hard part is actually working out what you actually, truly, wholeheartedly want. The rest — including making it happen — is pretty easy in comparison.⁣⁣

This seems simple but I tripped out about it for a while. I tried to follow a scripted plan. I lied to myself so that I wouldn’t go off route. I thought that if I changed my mind, that I would become powerless and weak.⁣
I WAS SO WRONG⁣.

This is me: Graduated from my 4-year undergrad at the University of British Columbia… on the final leg of my pre-planned future. Law school was next, marriage was after, and so on, and so forth.

This plan came to a standstill when COVID-19 hit and my July LSAT got cancelled. It got cancelled, then postponed, and then cancelled again. I began to feel discouraged and eventually, I was forced to STOP. I was forced to stop and reevaluate my “WHY”. My purpose. My dreams. What did I want?

Was it still the same? Did it change? Did I change?!

I WAS TERRIFIED.

All of the passions that I picked up along the way in university came flooding back to me. My travels, the friends I made, the opportunities I had, the lessons I learned, the skills I obtained, and so much more. I decided that I grew in university and sometimes growth means change. I began to fall in love with being a model, travelling the world, breaking glass-ceilings, Social media advocacy, helping others mend their relationships with food and their bodies, and so much more. Ahhh there was so much I loved. There was so much more that I wanted to do. There is so much I still have to do.

One’s life purpose is often what motivates them to continue—the reasons you get up in the morning. Purpose has the power to guide your life and give it motivation and passion. It influences your behaviours, your dreams, your sense of direction, and the relationships you make. It gives your life meaning. For some people, purpose is their life. For me, I am constantly trying to fulfill my purpose while also enjoying my journey.

Once you know exactly what you want, life starts to fall into place:⁣
You can prioritize and stay laser-focused on what matters and say no to shiny distractions and bulls***t.⁣
You can make the changes that are already in your power, whether it’s having the top grades, waking up early, starting your own business, getting in better shape, or following your wildest dreams.⁣
By acting more like the future version of yourself who has everything you dream of, you’re in the best position to achieve your big-picture goals.⁣
But the thing is, many people never get that far because they don’t take the time to sit and work out what they really want.⁣

WHY?⁣
Because it’s scary to sit quietly and think.⁣
It’s uncomfortable to dream big.⁣
It’s easier just to keep going the way we always have — in the same job, with the same people around us… the same thing, every day.⁣
And even if we long for a different future for ourselves, we don’t want to get kicked out of the tribe by pursuing it.⁣
This is your call to identify and pursue what you really want. Even if you get kicked out of the tribe. (If it’s the wrong life for you, do you really want to be in it?)⁣

Finding out what you want and don’t want is POWER. So tap into yours and honour your wants, your dreams, your passions... AND go live the life you want to live FOR REAL🖤
